I read something today that really spoilt my night. Something that seems so uncivilized, so selfish, that it boggles the mind. Me, reading as a physician, a human being, and one with a grandpa who had a stroke.
I don't usually let things I read on blogs piss me off (unless it's something racially discriminating/biased). But this one entry was about how this blogger felt that the disabled shouldn't be entitled to have their own disabled toilets.

As far as I am concerned, you have a physical disability - and that is where you
have a disadvantage. Your bladder is working fine isn't it? So you wait, just like normal people do, when there is a queue for the toilet. The rest of us queue up to use a toilet - I don't see why the disabled should be any different. Don't even go near the issue of handicapped parking lots. That is different, because waiting for a parking lot is not a matter of 2 minutes.

Man, that takes the cake. I used to find her blog entertaining. And then it got shallower and shallower, nothing but pictures of her cute self prancing about under an inch of make-up (which is ok, everyone's entitled to some narcissism, even ugly people like myself).
It's obvious though, this person has no idea what a disabled person might have to go through. And no, often their bladders are not working fine, you moron.
The way karma works though, I hope she doesn't one day pop a cerebral artery and stroke out and become wheelchair-bound or something. Or throw a clot to her brain from smoking or taking oral contraceptives.
Or worse, have someone in her family become handicapped. Because the way things work, what goes around, comes around. Then again, with her out of the equation, it'll probably be different; I doubt the rest of the world is that selfish.
And yes, I'm intentionally leaving out names/web addresses. While I like to bitch, moderation is key. And secondly, in the unlikely event that a disabled person chances upon my blog, I'd prefer to spare that person from actually going to her blog and reading every immature, spoilt word.

well, bloggers these days are starting to lose their integrity. they do not work within their limits and with the arrogance they became more and more over the top.
i am kinda slowly giving up.

I was speechless when I read the blogpost. It shows a total lack of decency and civic mindedness, not to mention sheer stupidity. Then again I have always thought that the pink poodle writes sheer crap (I mean it literally):P

I usually do not take blogposts personally but I find this one totally abhorent. Someone should just shoot the b**** (dont wanna use too many bad words on your blog vagus!)

Fame is getting to her lah... sigh... But looking at her blog post, it seems like her main problem wrt this issue is why people cannot use disabled toilets when no disabled people are using it...

So what is she, some kinda celebrity or online celebrity from Singapore or what?!? The chick is both narcissistic & histrionic, who's now probably laughing at the attention she sparked off from this toilet post already... those kinda people are not worth your time, don't get too emotional about it... afterall... you don't give a rat's behind about her opinion anyways right?!? And of course the world is full of selfish people... just give thanks that YOU've got a heart big enough to care for the world and the suffering people in it... it's indeed a blessing that not everyone has my friend...

cathie's got a point..

narcissism in it's diabolical-ness.. if there's such a word...

haven't completely read the post..
so.. don't know what to completely say about it..

but, to pass statements like that is kind of harsh on disabled ppl.. they have feelings too.. as you said V.. just pray that she doesn't have to experience (disability) to know what it really feels like. It shows apathy on her part.. which is part of the problems we humans have.. do pray..

My goodness!! Obviously someone don't understand how the disabled felt being disabled - this is not a privilege in life to use the toilet first, or special parking, etc. They are people with special needs. If given a chance, they would rather not be disabled and let others use the toilet first.

You are right, should let karmic forces take effect and see how she would felt if she's a disabled herself.

What an asshole!

*lol* yeah i read her blog too. It's not the first time she posted something ridiculous and shallow. She's just an attention whore so she would just say about anything to get more people to talk about her....
